I was commissioned by Premm Design and the London Legacy Development Corporation to build a 3D paper model of London’s Olympic Park which was then photograhed and printed to be used as a Map for the Park’s visitors. The challenge was to create a map that was geographically accurate butstill graphic and easy to understand. In order to do this we simplified the landscape and only included the main venues paths and roads.
The photographer, Ania and I were briefed to provide a landscape and a portrait photograph of the set, but it was eventually decided that the portrait photo worked better for the map. On the landscape version I made icons to represent the sports that each venue is used for. You can still pick up this map from the Park’s Visitor Centre and Café today!
